Sacra Infermeria

Originally known as the Sacra Infermeria, this building was constructed as a hospital during the rule of the Knights of St. John. Today, the name Sacra Infermeria refers to the main hall, located at street level and directly accessible from the main entrance. Capable of seating up to 1,500 guests and fully air-conditioned, this hall was once the Long Ward of the Order of St. John's hospital and remains one of the longest halls in Europe. Recognized as an architectural marvel when it was built in the 16th century, it continues to impress with its historic grandeur.
